Campsite

Camping Parc des Maurettes is on the French Riviera, roughly six kilometres west of Antibes. Lying on both the main east-west railway line and on the Mediterranean coast, the commune of Villeneuve-Loubet is the ideal train-camping holiday destination. The site has its own very small swimming pool, but as the beach is only 500 metres down the road, the sea is perhaps a better option.

The campsite has plenty of shade from the established trees surrounding the site. As it is part of the Villeneuve-Loubet commune, there are also good facilities within walking distance. An Intermarche and Lidl supermarket, for example, are less than 10 minutes from the campsite.

Accommodation Options

Besides standard tent pitches, Camping Parc Des Maurettes has a range of self-catering options. Mobile homes and chalets can sleep from 2 to 5 people, plus there are a couple of chalets with space for larger groups. All accommodation can be booked direct through the Camping Parc des Maurettes website.

Transport Links

The close-by Villeneuve-Loubet railway station is on the mainline running from the Italian border to Marseilles. The station offers local services to Cannes in the west and Nice in the east, with regular trains running to nearby Antibes from where express services run north to Paris.

Campsite

Is there anything better than a campsite only 200 metres from the nearest railway station and a mere 400 metres from the sunny beaches of the Mediterranean? These are the real selling points of Camping du Pylône, a large campsite located on the coast, some four kilometres north of Antibes. The site is long established with trees and hedging providing necessary shade.

There is a good-sized swimming pool on site, which is ideal for cooling down. For those after a bit more adventure, though, the large Aquasplash water park, is only around the corner, less than a 10 minute walk from the campsite. The nearest supermarket – a Carrefour – is around 800 metres along the coast in the direction of Antibes.

Accommodation Options

The campsite has standard pitches for campers and self-catering accommodation, very helpful for those arriving by train. In total, there are 22 mobile homes on site for rental, all set up to house four people. It’s worth paying attention to which caravans have air conditioning when booking. All reservations can be made direct through the website of Camping du Pylône.

Directions to Campsite

Finding this campsite is very simple. When leaving the station through the main entrance on Les Terrasses du Golf, you will see another road directly opposite – this is the tree-lined Avenue du Pylône, which leads directly to the campsite. Walk up this road for about 150 metres and you will very quickly see the entrance to the campsite on the left.
