Campsite
Situated in a valley in the heart of the Black Forest, Campingplatz Kinzigtal enjoys a rural location, but with the benefits of being on the edge of the community of Steinach. The village contains a supermarket, bakeries and a number of restaurants. The campsite itself backs onto Steinach’s large open air swimming pool which is open for campers. There is also a restaurant, bar and laundrette on site. It is worth noting that the campsite reception is closed from 13.00-15.00 every day.

Transport Links
Steinach railway station is only one kilometre – approximately 12 minute walk – from the railway station in the village of Steinach. The station is a stop on the beautiful Black Forest Railway which runs from Offenburg in the west to Singen in the south-east. Trains run approximately every 30 minutes Monday-Friday in both directions. Offenburg offers a wealth of connections, north to Frankfurt-am-Main, south to Basel and Switzerland, and west for Strasbourg and the French railway network.

Directions to Campsite
Leave the station on the western side and walk down Schwimmbad Strasse (which lies directly opposite the station). Follow this road until reaching a T-junction, where you need to turn right onto Welschensteinbacher Strasse. After 300 meters, you will come to a turning on the right signposted to the campsite. A further 150 meters will take you to the campsite entrance.

Campsite
Located on the edge of Schiltach, there should be no problem for train campers to stock up easily with supplies. There are three supermarkets within walking distance and a good range of restaurants too, although the compact campsite also offers food for guests too. There is no swimming pool on the campsite, although its possible to swim in the River Kinzig behind the site. Schiltach’s community open air pool is located on the other side of the town, a good thirty minute walk away. There is, however, a regular bus from the station. Take Bus 7462 and get out at the ‘Grundschule Hoffeld’ stop, from where the swimming pool is five minutes walk away.
Accommodation Options
The campsite offers circa forty pitches for tents. There is also one mobile home and a small chalet that can be rented directly from the campsite itself.
Transport Links
Schiltach railway station is only a two minute walk from the campsite. The station is on the railway line from Hausach to Freudenstadt and there is an hourly service in both directions. At Hausach, there are connections to the beautiful Black Forest Railway, which offers plentiful options to France, Switzerland and other German destinations from its northern terminus of Offenburg.
