Campsite

Villedieu-Les-Poêles is a historic small town in the heart of Normandy, renowned for the manufacture of metal goods. Many shops in the centre still sell copper pots and pans as a sign of this heritage. Les Chevaliers de Malte is a very well-kept site with a lot of greenery, trees and hedges separate the neat pitches. It is also ideally located, just five minutes from the centre of Villedieu and less than 15 minutes from the town’s railway station.

The campsite has its own bar, restaurant and a good-sized open-air swimming pool for warm days. Several excellent bakeries are close by; a Carrefour Express supermarket is in the town centre, as well as a number of affordable restaurants.

Accommodation Options

The campsite has 78 pitches, ideal for tents and caravans. But train travellers are catered for too, as the site offers a selection of self-catering options. One, two and three bedroom chalets and mobile homes – all fully equipped are available. Reservations can be made directly through the campsite’s own website.

Directions to Campsite

Leave the station in Villedieu and cross the carpark to the road, where you then turn right walking up a gentle hill to a T-junction and again turn right. Follow the main road all the way until the end – you will see a petrol station on the righthand side at this point. Direct opposite the petrol station is a short, narrow street. Follow this to the end, turn left and then immediately right. After crossing a small wooden bridge, you will be alongside the campsite. To get to the entrance, walk around the town’s cinema – a new modern building – and then walk along Rue des Costils and the main entrance will then be on your right.
